Job Title: Paint and Finishing Foreman
Overview: As the Paint and Finishing Foreman at Buckeye Trailers, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our trailer finishing processes. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team to meet production goals while maintaining high standards of quality.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct finishing inspections to ensure trailers meet company quality standards before final delivery.
- Manage and maintain finishing inventory to ensure adequate supplies are available for production.
- Inspect trailers that are prepped before entering the paint booth to verify readiness and quality.
- Perform paint inspections to ensure proper application, adherence to specifications, and overall finish quality.
- Monitor and manage paint inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule finishing and painting tasks according to production schedules and deadlines.
- Train and supervise finishing and painting team members, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Implement and enforce workplace policies and procedures related to finishing and painting operations.
- Collaborate with other departments such as manufacturing, maintenance, and quality assurance to resolve issues and optimize processes.
- Report on production metrics, quality inspections, and inventory levels to management regularly.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within the manufacturing or automotive industry, with specific experience in finishing and painting operations preferred.
- Strong understanding of finishing and painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Leadership abilities with experience in supervising and motivating a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office) and familiarity with inventory management and production related software is a plus.
