Global Power Components is a privately held, manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and metal modular equipment centers for housing fully-equipped electrical distribution and control equipment.
Along with a newly renovated 300,000 sq. foot facility, we have expanded into another 180,000 sq. foot facility that will foster our continued growth as we continue to be recognized as the undisputed leaders in our industry. As a result of our expansion, we are looking for Electrical Engineers to support both our Generator and our Modular Equipment Center Electrical Engineering groups.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Perform design, layout, and load calculations.
-Complete accurate drawings, including wiring schematics, conduit and equipment layouts, and detail drawings for construction.
-Complete accurate BOM’s, and assist purchasing with part substitutions.
-Create labels, panel schedules, and other documentation needed for construction.
-Work with production as needed on questions pertaining to design.
-Assist with quality control and testing of finished products.
-Assist with cost estimating for electrical portion of projects.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Excellent communication skills
-Ability to work independently while also collaborating with other Engineers, Production, Quality Control, etc.
-High School Diploma or GED
-Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or 5 year’s experience in a related electrical field required
-Valid Driver’s License with ability to occasionally travel between our 4 Milwaukee area facilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Proficiency in typing, Microsoft Excel and Word
-1+ year experience with AutoCAD
-Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and experience performing electrical load calculations
-Experience with large power generation equipment or with layout and construction of electrical equipment rooms
