Summary
- Create measurement programs utilizing different measurement methods and instruments to ensure accurate results.
- Support daily production with measurements and CMM programming needs.
- Develop measurement lab and practices.
- Train Quality staff on CMM related tasks.
- Manage all internal measurement tasks.
- Prepare metrology reports and other related correspondence.
- Develop good understanding of product makeup to determine where in manufacturing process quality problems originated and the resulting effect on the customer.
- Must be proficient in measurement techniques including writing programs for the CMM. Responsible for full layout inspection in preparation of PPAP documentation as per the AIAG standards.
- Support design of fixtures and gages for use in production to monitor quality.
- General support for supplier quality measurements.
- Perform measurements on 3-D measurement machine.
- Comply with TS 16949 Calibration System requirements for lab work.
- Provide and implement continuous improvement and cost saving ideas.

Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, or sitting for varying periods of time.

Quality System
Responsible for following the standards and guidelines of the latest quality system, including maintaining departmental records, participating in internal / external audits, and following quality procedures on a daily basis. Along with the help of the Metrology Manager, drives the initiative to strive for continuous improvement.
Qualification
- College degree in engineering preferred.
- Must have technical training consisting of measurements and CMM.
- Must have a good understanding of the injection molding business.
- Should be able to analyze processes and make independent decisions.
- Should be a self-starter with a strong desire to excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to allow interaction with employees, customers, vendors and management on a professional level.
