Apprentices will spend between 20-25 hours a week engaged in hands-on learning to help build a strong career foundation while completing their Supply Chain Management Degree at Harper College.

Apprentices will receive a 38,400.00 per year plus benefits.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
You'll participate in Harper Community College's and DB Schenker's two-year learning/work program as a Freight Forwarding Apprentice.
You will assist to organize shipments to move goods from the Schenker Shippers to end customers or final point of distribution.
This will be a rotational program through all relevant departments in Airfreight / Ocean Freight and Customs Brokerage.
As an apprentice at DB SCHENKER, you will earn an Associate's Degree in Supply Chain Management from Harper College along with a Freight Forwarder Apprenticeship Certification granted by the Department of Labor.
After completing the program, you will be assigned to one of the Branch or Operations Centers for Air/Ocean or Brokerage.
What you will do:
- You will meet with our Harper Student Apprentice Coaches and DB Schenker mentors for updates and guidance throughout the program.
- Your attendance is required for college classes and DB Schenker work training.
- In this role, you will be assigned to rotations based on the management's directives.
- You will assist while learning how to research and resolve operational problems.
- Your training will include a rotational training plan throughout our Chicago Branch locations and Operational Centers
