The Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our dynamic startup team. This position requires familiarity with Coreflood, Sandpack, and Analytical Chemistry methodologies. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and eager to contribute to our innovative projects. While prior experience is preferred, we welcome motivated individuals looking to grow and develop their skills in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment.
- Execute laboratory experiments, under supervision of senior team members, using Coreflood and Sandpack techniques to simulate reservoir conditions and assess fluid flow behaviors.
- Perform analytical chemistry analyses, utilizing techniques such as gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, spectrophotometry, and titration methods.
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of experimental results.
- Support senior team members in preparing and analyzing experiments.
- Document experimental procedures, results, and observations in laboratory records and technical reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field. Recent graduates or individuals with equivalent experience are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with Coreflood and Sandpack methodologies is necessary.
- Understanding of analytical chemistry techniques is preferred, with a willingness to learn and develop proficiency in laboratory practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Enthusiasm for working in a startup environment and willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with microbiological techniques, particularly in anaerobic microbiology.
- Ability to conduct microbial analysis and interpretation of results.
- Understanding of microbiological safety protocols and sterile techniques.
