Within the spirit of "Making People's Dreams Come True", this position is responsible for the overall care and upkeep of the accommodations enrolled in our visitation program here in The Villages. They act as an ambassador who draws from technical expertise to prepare our homes for visiting guests and are known to provide guest services during their stay which may include lending technical assistance with electronics, troubleshooting appliances and/or assisting with general maintenance as needed. In addition, this role conducts pre and post departure inspections to ensure accommodation is left in good condition while helping to coordinate proper next steps for future arrivals. Duties may include, but are not limited to, re-stocking homes with necessary supplies, working with contractors for routine or emergency maintenance, organizing storage unit supplies, documenting repairs and correspondence, assisting guests with questions, etc. This ‘in-field’ role carries a cell/pager to communicate while working and periodically participates in after hour ‘on call’ duties throughout the year. A Caretaker contributes to creating lasting first impressions and establishes the beginning of an unforgettable experience with us here in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown! These duties are accomplished while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:

Conducts pre-arrival accommodation inspections, ensuring each home has the necessary equipment, supplies, and sets up to serve the needs of visiting guests.

Prepares homes and greets new tenants/guests enthusiastically.

Conducts post departure inspections of accommodations, ensuring the home is left in good condition and proper steps are taken to prepare for your next arrival.

Restocks homes, organizes the supply house/storage and transfer items between units and the Sales & Information Office(s) as needed.

Participates in general “handyperson” type duties and functions such as general maintenance and/or troubleshooting problems with home appliances and such (ex: ice machines, microwaves, ovens, unclogging toilets/sinks, sprinkler systems, air-conditioning, etc.).

Coordinates janitorial needs, repairs and service calls with contractor and tenant as needed.

Develops a trusting relationship with guests, service providers and Villages teammates.

Carries a cell/pager device during work hours to receive and communicate with necessary entities; periodically hosts an afterhours on-call emergency cell/pager throughout the year as scheduled.

Gives technical assistance at home when called upon (ex: TVs, Wi-Fi, etc.).

Communicates and interfaces effectively and professionally with guests, teammates, and service providers always.

Answers questions and provides solutions for visiting guests regarding the home they are staying in and related amenities.

Creates an atmosphere in which all involved can enjoy The Villages lifestyle.

Attends special meetings, educational sessions, and assists leadership in ongoing training of new team members.
Education/Experience Requirements:

High school diploma and/or GED equivalent; or six (6) months related experience and/or training.

Proven experience as a “handyperson” preferred.

Basic computer skills a plus.

Physical/Environmental Demands:
