Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Home Health Aide/PCA to provide high-quality care and support to our clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with a focus on senior care and developmental disabilities. As a Home Health Aide/PCA, you will be responsible for assisting with daily living tasks, managing medication, and promoting independence and dignity for our clients. Duties:
- Provide personal care to clients, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Assist with meal preparation and nutrition planning
- Administer medications as prescribed by a doctor
- Manage catheters and other medical equipment
- Provide memory care and support to clients with dementia
- Assist with daily living tasks, such as light housekeeping and laundry
- Support clients with developmental disabilities, including those with autism or Down syndrome
- Promote independence and dignity for clients, while also ensuring their safety and well-being
- Document client care and communicate with healthcare providers as needed
- Clean and maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients and their families
Requirements:
- Current certification as a Home Health Aide or the ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those with dementia
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift 25 pounds or more, as needed
- Reliable transportation
- Clean and comfortable living space
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
- Strong commitment to patient care and support
- Familiarity with medication administration and catheter care
- Ability to follow medication administration guidelines and provide catheter care as needed
- Experience with meal preparation and nutrition planning
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of senior care and developmental disabilities
- Experience working with patients with memory care needs
- Ability to provide emotional support and companionship to clients and their families
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $18.55 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
