Responsibilities:
- Conduct dog training sessions and classes for clients
- Teach basic obedience commands, as well as advanced training techniques
- Assess and evaluate dogs' behavior and temperament to develop personalized training plans
- Provide guidance and support to dog owners on effective training methods
- Address and correct behavioral issues such as aggression, anxiety, and fearfulness
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and training sessions
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a dog trainer or in a related field (e.g., veterinary assistant, veterinary technician, pet grooming)
- Strong knowledge of animal behavior and training techniques
- Ability to handle and restrain dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and provide clear instructions
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a passion for helping dogs and their owners
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and handle dogs in different situations
- Equine or kennel experience is a plus
