Position Summary
The Lead Warehouse Operations Associate is responsible for overseeing the daily fulfilment activities of the warehouse. The ideal candidate will be forklift certified, familiar with WMS software and possess employee oversight capabilities. This oversight includes managing the day-to-day activities of team members employed to work on a given project and other warehouse responsibilities. The Lead Warehouse Operations Associate is always on the ground to monitor the performance of workers (mainly temps) and to ensure workflow is always uninterrupted. At times the Lead Warehouse Operations Associate will be responsible for overseeing the execution of multiple teams who are working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Act as a lead in managing the day today warehouse activities and monitors daily workflow of the department.
- Follows the process of unloading, staging and put away of all inbound inventory using the tools provided in the WMS (3PL) system.
- Keeps the warehouse organized, clean and free from hazards.
- Arrange storage areas to properly fit the product.
- Follow all fulfillment and shipping processes, many of which are customized for the particular client.
- Ensure all orders are processed timely following FIFO protocols, any active order must be considered a high priority and any inventory shortages must be reported through the proper channels.
- Serves as a liaison between management and non-management team members by communicating assigned tasks to team members.
- Planning and coordinating work, training and motivating, monitoring, and evaluating performance of other Warehouse Associates. Working with management to evaluate any corrective action when needed.
- Leads proper handling of materials and merchandise to avoid injury or damage and reports potential issues.
- Reports to management all work-related concerns, such as attendance and productivity.
- Verifies outgoing deliveries meet company quality standards, and that order slips match and have the appropriate signatures.
- Be able to open and close the building and run a shift at times. Be able to flex schedule when needed in the event a project gets behind and/or when large projects surface.
- Lead by example, set the tone and pace that the other employees/temps need to follow.
- Performing other related duties as required
Job Requirements
The essential requirements include:
- 3PL WMS Experience (familiarity with Warehouse Management System).
- Forklift certified.
- Experience driving a 26-foot box truck.
- Light mechanical skills required – ability to move beams on racking, install and move around equipment as needed and make minor repairs to the facility.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a lead role.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:
- Warehouse experience: 3 years (Preferred)
