William Paterson Cheerleading Coach Description
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Preparation and support of William Paterson Cheerleading Club for all performances
- Present at all practices and game schedule on weekdays and weekends (typically three times a week)
- Candidate must have experience teaching various cheer movements, techniques, and routines and working with a variety of athletes
- Support University branding and promotion initiatives by implementing engagement activities
- Assist the team’s executive board in the development and management of the budget based on cheerleading operational needs and goals.
- Provide administrative support including practice planning, gameday prep and operations, recruiting, equipment care and inventory, uniform management, and camps/clinics
- Support program mission, culture, and student-athlete success through responsibilities in leadership development, team building, academic monitoring, fundraising, and community engagement
- Knowledge of UCA traditional style
- Follow all University and Athletics and Recreation rules and regulations
Required Qualifications:
- Commitment to academic success and leadership development for student-athletes
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills including ability to provide and receive feedback and professionally communicate with student-athletes
- Proven track record of reliability
- Demonstrates a growth mindset and a focus on the whole person
- First Aid/CPR certification required prior to starting
- Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity that embraces work within a diverse, multicultural community.
- Support and be present all team activities
- USA Cheerleading safety certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Collegiate cheerleading experience
- Leadership development experience
