What you'll do
- Review medical records and accurately code correct ICD-10-CM, CPT®, HCPCS Level II, and modifier assignment when reporting hematology and oncology services and procedures
- Demonstrate expertise in coding of facility procedures performed by hematologists and oncologists and auxiliary staff, including chemotherapy administration, hydration services, therapeutic, prophylactic and diagnostic administration, bone marrow aspiration, bone marrow biopsies, venipuncture, vaccinations, therapeutic phlebotomy, etc.
- Keep active coding certifications and complete continuing education to maintain expertise in complex facility coding scenarios
What you'll need
- At least 3-4 years oncology coding experience of facility procedures performed by hematologists and oncologists and auxiliary staff, including chemotherapy administration, hydration services, therapeutic, prophylactic and diagnostic administration, bone marrow aspiration, bone marrow biopsies, venipuncture, vaccinations, therapeutic phlebotomy, etc.
- Proficient coding ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes and modifiers for billing and reimbursement of oncology services at 95% accuracy or higher
- Have active AHIMA or AAPC coding credentials.
- CHONC credentials preferred
- Access to high speed internet and workstation. Elevate IT requirements are available upon request
