SUMMARY:
A Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) is responsible for conducting and approving all initial assessments within 30 days of the assessment date. The LMHP is also to conduct the diagnostic assessment, Intensive In-Home Services/Mental Health Support Services/Outpatient Services/Crisis Intervention and provide supervision for all clinical staff. The LMHP will report to the Clinical Supervisor/Team Leader.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The LMHP will make the diagnosis and complete the Assessment.
- The LMHP will be responsible for reviewing and approving all initial/comprehensive ISP’s and assist ISP’s within 30 days of the assessment.
- Must use appropriate ethical and professional judgment at all times.
- The LMHP must provide documentation of licenses or certification for all credentials as required by the position.
- LMHP will provide appropriate supervision of all clinical staff as required in the service definition.
- LMHP will provide Monthly Supervision for Mental Health Support to QMHP’s
- LMHP will provide Monthly Supervision for Intensive In Home Services & Therapeutic Day Treatment(TDT).
- LMHP will provide supervision as needed for Crisis Stabilization.
- LMHP must be able to respond to crisis call within 1 hour from Regional Hub displacement(Mobile Crisis Response).
STAFF REQUIREMENTS
1. A Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) is a physician, licensed clinical psychologist, licensed professional counselor, licensed clinical social worker, licensed substance abuse treatment practitioner, or certification as a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist.
2. Have no substantiated findings on the criminal history or central registry background checks.
3. All facilities or services shall require that all applicants for employment disclose any criminal conviction. The impact of this information on a decision regarding employment shall be based upon the offense in relationship to the job for which the applicant is applying. Any barrier crime convictions, regardless of when it occurred, will cause an applicant to be ineligible for the position as defined by the Code of Virginia 63.2-1719 and 37.2-314.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- The LMHP posses a working knowledge of the mental health field, and have an active license or certificate.
- The LMHP must be able to manage and effectively control crisis and emergency situation.
- The LMHP must be able to provide and complete therapy as needed.
- The LMHP must be able to control family/group/team interventions or sessions.
- Must be able to use appropriate judgment when diagnosing individuals.
- The LMHP must maintain licensure throughout employment.
- LMHP will be able to maintain current records in an organized system.
- Computer and database skills are required for the LMHP position.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals within a diverse community.
