Summary
2nd Shift - Drives forklift in order to load and unload material by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Park trucks in loading zone
- Pickup paperwork for the assigned truck from the office & verify the delivery tickets are in the order the truck is routed to travel
- Separate and distribute any returns on the truck to the appropriate department and check-in the material to be loaded
- Pull, measure and cut any missing material
- Set sticks, load material and strap down the load
- Inspect the load for loose sticks/blocks and ensure load is DOT compliant related to length, height and belly straps
- Inspect the zone for any missed material, loose sticks or banding and handle accordingly
- Park the truck in the warehouse and load hangers in the side box
- Cut blocks for flat packs
- Unload trucks/rail cars as required
- Complete and submit forklift inspection sheet and loader checklist
- Clean up work areas, tools, and equipment
- General Housekeeping and Office related tasks
- Sweep and maintain yard/warehouse
- Pick up litter, lumber waste, cardboard and other waste and dispose of in proper receptacle(s)
- Inventory Cycle counting, maintenance and control
- Order processing and documentation
- Filing (electronic and manual)
- Photocopying
- Maintain clean safe work environment including forklifts
- Miscellaneous projects as assigned

Education and/or Experience
Two years of forklift experience preferred, but not required. Knowledge of building lumber packs and experience in a lumber/steel yard and/or loading and unloading trucks is a plus.
