ARS is seeking a full time Licensed Occupational Therapist to provide Pediatric therapy services for school based patients in the Greene county areas.
- Experience preferred working with Pediatric patients.
- Must be willing to drive in all weather conditions
JOB REQUIREMENT: Graduate of an approved occupational therapy program; licensed to practice, or eligible for licensure, in the state in which they practice; have good oral and written communication skills; be of excellent health and possess a high energy level; demonstrate a commitment to excellent patient care and customer service.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES: To evaluate a patient’s neuromuscular and/or musculoskeletal function through the administration of diagnostic and prognostic assessment of muscle, nerve and joint function. To develop a plan using treatment techniques based on the individual patient’s needs. To report findings to referring physician in order to coordinate care. To provide care as needed and/or supervise care provided.
SPECIFIC PROCEDURE RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Shall accept referrals from all referring practitioners that are legally empowered to refer patient care to occupational therapy.
- Shall interpret the contents of all referrals from health care practitioners. Contact to the practitioner shall be made if a question arises.
- Shall communicate appropriate patient care status to referring practitioner.
- Shall evaluate the patient and develop a plan of care.
- Shall complete, in a timely manner, documentation in the patient record regarding treatment given, including subjective, objective, assessment, and treatment plans.
- Shall observe, record and report any unusual situations, conditions, reactions and responses of patients.
- Shall complete all documentation including extra forms and other insurance companies.
- Shall perform treatments that fall within the scope of practice for an occupational therapist.
- Shall complete patient discharge summaries when appropriate and in a timely manner.
- Shall respect and exercise judgment regarding confidential medical information of all clients.
- Shall participate in continuing education and acquire the appropriate number of CEU credits as set forth by the State Board of Occupational Therapy.
- Shall develop and maintain a high level of expertise in an area of clinical specialization within the field of occupational therapy.
- Shall conduct self within the code of ethics established by the AOTA and ARS.
- Shall attend staff meetings.
- Shall follow the company dress code.
- Shall report and remove from use any malfunctioning equipment.
- Shall perform any other related duties as assigned by authorized personnel or as may be required in an emergency situation.
- Shall get assistance for any lifting/carrying activities over 50 pounds.
