Title: Payroll Specialist
Summary:
The Payroll Specialist is accountable for providing quality service to all employees. This role involves assisting employees with payroll production and tax-related inquiries, ensuring accuracy, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Compile payroll data including garnishments, vacation time, insurance, and 401(k) deductions for 1,000+ employees, including new hire and termination processing.

Review and verify information from electronic time clocks for completeness and accuracy.

Calculate overtime, vacation, and sick hours accurately.

Contact employees to obtain any missing information.

Process semi-monthly transfer of payroll data to the payroll system.

Generate payroll management reports from the payroll software system.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree highly preferred.

4 or more years of office-related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws.

Proficiency in MS Office, payroll software (e.g., Paylocity, ADP, etc.), data entry, and office equipment.

Strong customer service orientation with proven problem resolution skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Exceptional organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.

Strong interpersonal skills.
