The Database Manager will dedicate their time to assisting with the strategic analysis and reporting of critical development data and information pulled from the University’s donor and alumni database. The Database Manager will exercise a high level of creativity and quality control to ensure reports and data extracts convey comprehensive and complex information in an understandable and highly accurate manner.
This position will be instrumental in helping to implement the UNC Health Foundation’s Strategic Plan and will work closely with Prospect Development leadership and outside vendors to make the plan a success.
Responsibilities:

Maintain knowledge of applicable information technology and tools within UNC Health and fundraising world, in general.

Help ensure the integrity of prospect management data within the UNC Health secure folder system and Davie, the Blackbaud-based CRM of UNC Health.

Liaise with UNC Health’s Epic team and the University Development Office (UDO) on data flows coming into Davie from Epic, Blackbaud, or other vendors.

Monitor for failed batch transfers daily and resolve Epic batch entries monthly.

Build and maintain strong partnerships with frontline fundraisers and support staff.

Collaborate with fundraising leaders to ensure frontline fundraisers are adhering to data entry protocols.

Answer questions from Development Officers on how to enter data correctly into Davie. Correspond with UDO Prospect Management team on updates to Prospect Manager or Plan Status.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of business analysis and data gathering experience and database and prospect management skills required. Experience in an academic medical center, university or large college setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with Blackbaud software products – CRM preferred.

- Must demonstrate ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse constituencies, meet deadlines, be self-motivated, work independently, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities.
- Must have a customer service-oriented attitude, and the ability to be a team player with proven relationship and influencing skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues from a variety of internal and external functional areas.
- Must be a proven strategic and analytical thinker.
- Must be an expert in Excel.
- Must have experience with report writing software and dashboards.
