Primary Function-
To help maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all team members and manage the administration of the company safety program.
Typical Duties-
- Conduct regular walk-through observations, inspections of construction projects, service projects and service calls.
- Identify, document, and help resolve hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions; follow through to ensure corrections have been made.
- Provide technical and administrative direction to field and operation’s team members regarding safety related issues.
- Conduct various industrial hygiene samplings, such as gas, oxygen, or noise to ensure safe working conditions.
- Participate in developing and conducting training for the company safety program.
- Obtain administration permits (confined space, hot work, etc.) as required.
- Investigate personal injury, auto and property damage incidents.
- Accompany federal, state and insurance inspectors on job walks or tours.
- Compile data, photographs, etc.; prepare all pertinent forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state, local regulations associated with incidents.
- Assist in emergency rescues as required. Assist in maintaining fire protection and grounding systems.
- Review safety related journals, catalogues, etc. to keep abreast of changes/improvements in protective safety equipment, materials, and gear.
- Perform additional responsibilities as directed by Safety Director or corporate executives.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience-
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required.
- OSHA 500 Minimum Requirement, CHST Preferred.
- 2+ years of construction or trade safety experience required.
- Ability to identify, document and abate hazardous situations & recommend corrective measures essential.
- Thorough understanding of all federal, state, and local Occupational Safety and Health regulations.
