Design Operations & Systems Director Job Description
Summary/Objective:
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Design Operations & Systems Director to lead and oversee the management of CAD, i360, ClosetPRO systems, and related systems for our custom closet design, sales, and installation business. In this role, you will be responsible for enabling the introduction of new products, driving change management, and ensuring the seamless adoption of systems and processes in the field. The Design Operations & Systems Director will also play a pivotal role in digitizing our design processes, enhancing the customer journey, and improving sales capabilities both online and in-person.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management of the Cabinet Vision (CAD), i360, ClosetPRO systems to streamline custom closet design, sales, and installation operations.
- Collaborate with product vendors to introduce new products (IE. lighting, hardware, and Murphy bed programs into our offerings).
- Drive the adoption of new systems and processes in the field by implementing effective change management strategies.
- Partner with product vendors to provide training to Designers, CAD teams, and the sales enterprise on new processes, products, and installation best practices.
- Lead efforts to digitize the design process, improving the customer journey and enhancing efficiency in design operations.
- Develop and implement online and in-person dual path sales process capabilities to cater to a wider range of customers.
- Implement new technologies and industry best practices to advance our market ownership, including virtual paperwork solutions.
- Work towards increasing appointment close rates to surpass 60% by optimizing processes and enhancing sales techniques.
- Collaborate closely with the Installation team to ensure a smooth close-out process and elevate customer satisfaction and net promoter scores.
- Unify the cultures of Carolina Closets/SpaceMakers and Artisan while building in flexibility to acquire other companies and support rapid growth.
- Play a key role in supporting the company's growth initiatives, particularly in alignment with private equity backing.
- Collaborate closely with sales, designers, and marketing teams to elevate our ecosystem of custom closet design and installation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in operations management, particularly in a design or installation-related field.
- Strong leadership and change management skills.
- Exceptional project management abilities.
- Proficiency in CAD and design software.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a rapidly growing and changing environment.
- Private equity or M&A experience is a plus
