Description:
We are seeking a legal assistant to help manage personal injury cases. The legal assistant will be responsible for maintaining accurate case files, being the liaison with the clients on their docket, working directly with our Attorneys and support staff to meet all court requirements for each case and serving as a reliable advocate for our growing list of clients.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities

Performing administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics etc.)

Prepare and file documents with state and federal courts

Review, summarize and organize medical records

Gather and organize documents for discovery responses

Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices

Maintain pleads and discovery indexes
-
Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties
-
Draft correspondence and regularly communicate with clients, experts, and defense counsel in an effective and courteous manner

Assist with pre-trial preparation, including drafting trial documents and preparing exhibits

Assist with case settlements

Minor drafting based on experience
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
-
Minimum of 1 years’ experience in personal injury litigation
-
Knowledge of Texas Civil Procedure and Local Court Rules
-
Excellent verbal, written, and time management skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
-
Great time management and multi-tasking skills
-
Able to act independently and with minimal supervision

Must be organized, detail-oriented and a self-starter

Proficient and experienced using paperless case management systems

Fluent in Spanish (written and verbal)

Proven track record of success in a fast-paced environment

Enjoys providing the highest level of service to clients

Ability to work well within a team

Very computer savvy and able to learn new software

Education & Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) - Required
-
1-2 years of personal injury litigation experience - Preferred
