A tier one supplier of fuel system parts to the automotive industry, has immediate opening for a 2nd shift Maintenance Team Leader.
Job Summary:
Provide team leadership in the performance of work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of a building in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting; HVAC maintenance; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist in leading the department of the day-to-day workload for the maintenance team to ensure an effective and efficient service is delivered and departmental targets, Key Performance Indicators and quality standards are achieved.
- Assist in assigning, resourcing and scheduling for planned preventative Maintenance, project work and shutdowns.
- Assist in developing the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, while fostering a culture of working safely.
- Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures as part of repair process in order to understand & implement long term / standardized solutions.
- Work with team to perform all job duties including preventive maintenance & repair on all plant production and facility equipment.
- Drive a positive work environment/good team member morale while creating a culture of continuous improvement.
- Maintain equipment and shop cleanliness and ensure team is compliant to company 5S standards and regulatory requirements.
- Document and communicate change points and follow up to ensure final repairs are completed as needed.
- Assist other members of department and other departments when required.
- Support ISO activities as required.
- Support operations in maintaining compliance with laws and regulations as relates to employment, safety, environmental, etc.
- Support facility activities in QCD efforts to achieve our company goals. (Kaizen/cost reduction)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge / Education:
- Associates degree or Certificate in Industrial Maintenance, or Maintenance Leadership experience
- Demonstrated work history of maintenance of precision mechanical systems needing repairs within exacting operating ranges.
- Proficient working knowledge of PLC, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Electronics, basic Fabrication including machining and welding
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with training team members
Skills:
- Lead team of Maintenance technicians in a lean manufacturing automotive environment
- Trouble shoot and repair complex equipment and processes – includes PLC, Robotics, Plastic extrusion process, and assembly lines
- Coordinate, schedule and prioritize projects and monitor to deadlines
- Communicate effectively verbally and written
- Consult, Coach and train maintenance technicians
- Effectively utilize MS products to plan, analyze and report / communicate to team and staff level managers
- Effectively use shop tools and equipment to support equipment uptime
- Implement modifications and new equipment
Abilities:
- Able to work on feet over 90% of shift, and lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of multitasking and adjusting to changing priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
- Flexible and can adjust to multiple requests with changing assignments in a fast pace environment
- Ability to demonstrate hand dexterity and strength to routinely hold and use various shop hand tools on a consistent basis over entire shift.
- Ability to be around machinery with high voltage and magnetic fields. (PPE supplied)
- Ability to work overtime and flexible shifts as required
- Ability to travel as necessary to obtain job proficiency and new equipment training
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controls, electrical control circuits, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read and understand ladder logic diagrams and electrical schematics
Work Conditions:
Climbing, Sitting, Standing, carrying loads up to 50 lbs.; Twisting, bending, squatting 50+% of shift; Work in heights; works partially in an office environment; Work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. May be called in to work on all hours.
