We are looking for dedicated and compassionate, skilled registered nurses or licensed vocational nurses to join our network of independent contractors and provide personalized care for a ventilation-dependent patient in her home. Shifts needed 7p-7a. As a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - Ventilation-Dependent Patient Care Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and overall health of our patient. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Nightshifts needed: 7p-7a
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Ventilator Settings and Modes: Monitor and adjust ventilator settings and modes as prescribed by the physician to optimize patient respiratory function.
- Catheter Care: Provide meticulous care for the suprapubic catheter, ensuring proper hygiene and preventing infections.
- Tracheostomy Care: Perform routine tracheostomy care to maintain airway hygiene and prevent complications.
- Assist with Bowel Training Program: Implement and assist with the bowel training program as prescribed by the healthcare team, ensuring patient comfort and dignity.
- Administer Mini Enemas: Safely administer mini enemas as needed to facilitate bowel movements and maintain bowel regularity.
- Assist with Transfers: Safely assist the patient with transferring from the bed to the wheelchair and vice versa, using proper lifting and transfer techniques to prevent injury.
- Provide Transportation: Drive the patient to medical appointments, work, events, and other outings as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort during transit.
Qualifications:
- Valid nursing license in California as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in nursing, preferably in critical care or home care settings
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Proficiency in managing ventilator settings and modes
- Experience with cuffless tracheostomy and suprapubic catheter care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and provide high-quality care
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
