PB Loader Corporation/American Grape Harvesters, a leading manufacturer of Truck-Mounted Loaders, Grape Harvesters, and related equipment, seeks a talented and customer-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join its dynamic team in Fresno, California. This position will be responsible for providing a variety of inspection procedures to ensure quality level at various stages of manufacturing at or above the standard. Support the organization goals in achieving total customer satisfaction. This position must ensure the company’s safety and personnel policies are adhered to while contributing to an environment focused on teamwork and professionalism.
Essential Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Review finished trucks against work orders or customer specifications
· Inspect finished products and ensure the unit has all the configuration as outlined in the job work order
· Validate trucks functionality against the intended design objective or customer’s perception
· Validate the ergonomic of the controls inside the cab
· Inspect components and major weldment for welding quality.
· Inspect components, major assemblies, and trucks for finishing quality
· Fill in final inspection sheets and turn the units to the proper department’s manager or supervisor for rework
· Coordinate the rework with the department managers
· Validate all rework is conducted against the final inspection sheets
· Follow up with departments heads on repetitive issues and work on corrective actions
· Update final inspection sheets as required to improve the inspection processes
· Review warranty claims and ensure inspection sheets are updated or reflected into the inspection processes
· Coordinate inspection with customers’ inspectors and follow up on rework or issues
· Assist in in-process inspection at various departments- validate processes or assemblies
· Assist in inspecting incoming materials to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
· Reject products or materials and Red Tag rejected items with reason for rejection.
· Notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems.
· Write test or inspection reports describing results, recommendations, or needed repairs.
· Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
· Ensure all torque wrenches, hose crimping units, and all other measuring equipment are on a documented calibration schedule and are adhered to schedule
· Review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences
The desired candidate will possess these qualifications:
· Possess a valid California driver’s license
· High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum of 6 years of as a quality inspector in the trucking industry or heavy equipment manufacturing is required
- Associates degree in quality control management or related field is required
- Certifications with the American Society for Quality, Certified Quality Inspector, or Six Sigma
- Must understand bill of materials, read technical engineering drawings, technical specifications and have basic skills in manufacturing or processes
· Ability to read and adhere to manufacturing blueprints, work orders, and other instructions
· Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
· Familiar with welding, finishing, assembly, hydraulic, and electrical assemblies
