Job Overview: As a dealership parts counter person, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our service department by providing excellent customer service and efficient parts support. You will be responsible for assisting both customers and technicians in identifying, locating, and procuring automotive parts and accessories essential for vehicle maintenance and repair.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet customers promptly and courteously.
- Assist customers in identifying their parts needs based on vehicle make, model, and year.
- Provide recommendations and advice on parts selection.
- Answer inquiries regarding parts availability, pricing, and usage.
- Handle customer complaints and issues effectively, striving for customer satisfaction.
- Order Processing:
- Receive and process parts orders from customers, technicians, and internal departments.
- Utilize dealership's parts catalog and computer systems to identify parts and check availability.
- Place orders for parts not in stock, ensuring timely delivery.
- Verify accuracy of received orders and reconcile discrepancies.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Conduct regular parts counts and audits as per dealership procedures.
- Assist in stocking shelves and organizing parts bins and storage areas.
- Keep parts department clean and organized for efficient operations.
- Technical Support:
- Collaborate with technicians to understand their parts needs for vehicle repairs.
- Research and provide technical information regarding parts and accessories.
- Stay updated on product knowledge, new parts releases, and industry trends.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Generate invoices, process payments, and maintain accurate records of transactions.
- Prepare and submit reports on parts sales, inventory levels, and customer interactions.
- Follow dealership policies and procedures regarding warranties, returns, and exchanges.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 4 years experience in aftermarket parts or 1 year+ in dealership setting.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with automotive parts cataloging systems and computer proficiency.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling parts orders and inventory.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
