Summary of position:
Our company is hiring a full-time bilingual legal assistant or paralegal. The ideal candidate will enjoy collaborating with a team, have an interest in helping people, and be a quick learner who is detail-oriented.
- Communicate with clients, insurance providers, medical professionals, and attorneys
- Open client files, initiate insurance claims, order records and obtain outstanding balances and liens
- Draft, proofread, and format correspondence and legal documents
- Process incoming mail and documents, organize and maintain digital casefiles and matters
- Summarize medical records and bills, draft insurance demand letters
- Assist the attorney with the drafting and filing of pleadings
- Assist the attorney in the preparation of trial
- Manage the attorney’s calendar
- Conduct legal research
Minimum requirements:
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in a professional office environment
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to work as part of a team, manage and prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
- Comfortable speaking on the phone
- Demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and customer service; ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
Preferred experience & qualifications:
- Associate's degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or other legal studies OR a Bachelor's degree in any field preferred
- Legal experience
- Personal Injury law experience
