Assistant Clinical Operations Manager
Job Role and Responsibilities
1. Manage the day-to-day clinical operations and coordinate clinical flow
2. Supervise and provide leadership to medical assistants
- Monitor and ensure all medical assistant tasks are completed daily
- Hold medical assistants accountable for their responsibilities
- Serve as a trainer and role model for clinical skills
3. Act as the project manager for Chronic Care Management (CCM) programs
4. Oversee and manage clinical management programs, such as:
- Weight management
- Mental health management
- Diabetes management
5. Manage IV infusions and related procedures
6. Assist with front desk operations.
Required Skills and Experience:
MINIMUM OF 10 YEARS OF ACTIVE MEDICAL ASSISTANT EXPERIENCE in a primary care, ER, or urgent care setting (administrative experience is not applicable)
This leadership position serves as a role model for clinical staff, requiring excellent communication and leadership skills. Expert-level proficiency in all clinical skills is essential, as this role is responsible for training and retaining medical assistants and clinical staff.
- EXPERT-LEVEL PROFICIENCY in Intramuscular and subcutaneous injections
- EXPERT-LEVEL PROFICIENCY in Intravenous (IV) administration and management of infusions
- EXPERT-LEVEL PROFICIENCY in Point-of-care testing (EKG, spirometry, etc.)
- EXPERT-LEVEL PROFICIENCY in Phlebotomy
- EXPERT-LEVEL PROFICIENCY in Managing lab reports under the supervision of a licensed provider
- EXPERT-LEVEL PROFICIENCY in Clinical documentation
- EXPERT-LEVEL PROFICIENCY in the Ability to train and serve as a role model for other medical assistants in clinical skills
- EXPERT-LEVEL PROFICIENCY in obtaining referrals, prior authorizations, and HEDIS reporting
Other:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong telephone skills
- Knowledge of billing and coding (preferred)
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, preferably Clinical Works
- Ability to create and set up note templates
- Front desk experience (preferred)

- Analyze clinic operations and identify areas for process improvements
- Implement new initiatives and facilitate change management
- Provide input on enhancing the patient experience and service offerings
- Stay updated on industry best practices and healthcare regulatory changes

- Clinical Skills: Hands-on experience and expertise in clinical skills like injections, IV administration, EKGs, phlebotomy, etc., to serve as a trainer and role model.
- Compliance: Knowledge of regulatory compliance, HIPAA, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Problem-solving: Resourcefulness in problem-solving, using initiative, and good judgment.

Pay: $62,000.00 - $83,600.00 per year
