What you will make! $16/hr.
What Will You Do?
Under the direction of assigned Preschool Teacher, Preschool Teacher assistants assume responsibility for planning, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of classroom activities.

Provides direct service and supervision to children.

Assists in generating daily and weekly classroom plans in cooperation with other staff members.

Models professional methods, techniques, and behaviors for children, other staff, parents, and volunteers.

Assists in the maintenance of the total quality of the classroom environment, with a focus on cleanliness, order, state of repair, and the replenishment of supplies.

Establishes appropriate and helpful relationships with other staff, mentors, family members, and support service providers.
-
Assists in the maintenance of all child records.

Conforms to the assigned Lead Teacher’s guidelines.

Ability to develop mutually respectful relationships with our children and their families.
-
Ability to appropriately intervene to meet the needs of our children and their families and to help our children and their family members gain the skills and confidence to address issues and problems as they take place.

Understands the cultural diversity of children and team members to better serve our families.

Ability to work as a partner with other team members.

Flexibility in job schedule to accommodate needs of the center.

May need to transport children in Agency vehicles as needed.

Performs other duties required by administration and Lead Teacher.

Ability to use technology to track student assessments and observations

Can perform duties that will require lifting, bending, sitting on the floor and standing that will help provide supervision and interaction with the children
Assume responsibility for personal professional development.

Based on identified needs, assists in the development of personal goals.

Completes appropriate continuing education requirements based on state or agency requirements.

Maintains accurate personal professional development file.

Participates in an evaluation process
Requirements:
What qualification do you need?

Must be at least 18 years of age and have at least six SCH of post-high school coursework in Early Childhood Education and 2 years of early childhood teaching experience.

Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.

Must have knowledge of regulations governed by DCDEE and Mecklenburg County Health Department standards.
