Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled MDS Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The MDS Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and completing the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
Duties:
- Coordinate the completion of MDS assessments for all residents in a timely manner
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of MDS assessments
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive resident care plans
- Review medical records and interview staff and residents to gather assessment information
- Monitor changes in resident conditions and update assessments as needed
- Provide education and training to staff on the MDS process
Skills:
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
- Proficiency in conducting vital signs assessments
- Experience in urgent care or similar fast-paced healthcare environments
- Familiarity with Cerner or other electronic health record systems
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
- Understanding of neonatal ventilator care and dialysis procedures
- Ability to perform trauma medicine assessments
- Experience with spinal tap procedures
- Previous work in assisted living facilities is a plus
