Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our finance and operations team. The CFO will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health and strategic direction of Cardinal Investments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in real estate accounting, a strong understanding of property management operations, and proven leadership skills to manage a team of three professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management and stakeholders.
- Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a team of three finance and operations professionals, including an Operations Manager, Accounts Payable Clerk & General Administrator.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment to achieve team goals and objectives.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and performance metrics.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
- Present financial information and insights to senior management and the Board of Directors.
- System Integration:
- Utilize AppFolio software for property management and accounting functions.
- Lead the integration of AppFolio software and ensure optimal utilization to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in real estate accounting and finance.
- Previous experience with AppFolio/Yardi software highly preferred, with a proven track record of successful system integration.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse audiences.
