Salary Range: $135,000 - $155,000 Per Year
Can you manage daily challenges and recommend long-term solutions?
You will suggest long-term solutions and make insightful decisions to ensure immediate exceptional care. You will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative leadership for the Medical/Surgical Cancer Unit, aligning with the hospital's long- and short-term goals and objectives. As a part of this team, you will deliver exceptional pre- and post-surgery care to our diverse patient community.
In collaboration with our physician leadership, you will oversee the 24-hour operational management of the Medical/Surgical unit. Your duties will include improving patient satisfaction, streamlining operational processes, and enhancing quality outcomes. Additionally, you will be involved in educational, clinical, administrative, and quality improvement initiatives, as well as strategic planning to uphold high performance and best nursing practices throughout the hospital.
Additionally, your responsibilities will include:
· Budget preparation and compliance, as well as effective utilization of service line or multiple cost centers
· Training and onboarding new Med/Surg nurses, and conducting in-service and performance reviews
· Assessing and ensuring the competency and active license/certification status of staff
· Developing standards of practice to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and hospital policy
To qualify, you must have:
· A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; Master’s degree preferred
· At least 3-5 years of progressive leadership Med/Surg experience
· Current New York State RN license and BCLS certification
· Experience working in a hematology/oncology program
· Oncology Nursing Certification from the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation
· The ability to complete de-escalation training within 90 days of hire and every two years after
· Experience monitoring a broad range of medical conditions
· Excellent written and oral communication skills with computer proficiency
