Background
Acme Paper & Supply Co., Inc. (“Acme”) is a third generation, family-owned and operated distribution company, serving the mid-Atlantic region since 1946. Acme is an innovative supplier, whose goal is to provide clients not only with a wide array of products quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively, but also to offer creative solutions to fill particular needs. We inventory over 15,000 wholesale packaging products, as well as a broad selection of restaurant and janitorial equipment. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
· Knowledge of, and recent experience working with, Oracle NetSuite
· Familiarity with multi-divisional entities and the allocation of income and expenses
· The instinctive ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and cost reductions across all finance-related areas and functions
· The self-confidence to freely offer suggestions that could potentially result in greater accuracy, efficiency, and financial controls
Essential Responsibilities
· Reconcile all corporate bank and credit card statements on a monthly basis
· Ensure the timely and accurate filing of monthly and quarterly sales tax returns
· Update and maintain month end balance sheet schedules and other financial data
· Maintain accurate books and records for the company’s subsidiaries
· Assist with the preparation of GAAP financial statements
· Support the Accounts Receivable team to ensure that payments are received when due and are posted to customer accounts on a daily basis
· Support the Accounts Payable team to ensure that bills are entered in a timely manner, payments are made to vendors no later than the due date, and all discounts offered by vendors are taken
Skills and Qualifications
· 5+ years of general accounting experience, preferably in a distribution environment
· Four-year college degree in Accounting
· CPA or candidate is a plus, but not a requirement
· Proficiency with Oracle NetSuite
· Experience working with a small, close-knit team
· Attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to perform efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
· Proficiency with Oracle NetSuite and Microsoft Office 365
· A high level of integrity and dependability, coupled with a strong sense of urgency
· Diligent team player with a strong, traditional work ethic
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Ability to work independently and to multi-task
Other Duties
· Assist the CFO and the CEO with special projects and requests
· Liaise with, work with, and support other departments as requested
