Nexus Therapy is now hiring for a full-time special education teacher for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. You would be working on-site with a great supportive district about 15 minutes outside of lovely Omaha, Nebraska. This position pays $60 per hour for a licensed and certified special education teacher and you can bill for up to 8 hours per day worked (40 hours/week)! You would be working with either elementary students in a resource/co-teaching position traveling between two buildings or with high school students in an 18-21 transition program. Must be licensed as a special education teacher in the state of Nebraska.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide instruction in various subjects, including math, language arts, science, and social studies
- Utilize specialized teaching techniques and materials to accommodate the unique learning needs of students
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Implement behavioral interventions and strategies to support students with challenging behaviors
- Provide support during physical education classes to ensure the inclusion of all students
- Collaborate with behavioral health professionals to address the emotional and behavioral needs of students
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and behavior
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education in the state of Nebraska
- Knowledge of child welfare laws and regulations
- Experience in implementing behavioral therapy techniques
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs
