Johnny Nolon's and Colorado Grande Cage Cashiers primary responsibility is to work well with others, have a great attitude and have fun! The cage cashier performs many types of cash transactions; token, coin cash-outs, cashes checks and performs credit card cash advances with guest of the casino to support Casino gaming operations. Also performs transactions with employees of other departments. They are also responsible for a timely response in the distribution of monies for Jackpots and Fills. Other duties are as follows:
- At the beginning and end of shift, counts down and balances amounts to the impress bank. Completes and signs associated accountability forms. Completes a variance form when necessary
- Conducts customer even money exchange transactions
- Redeems coin and completes Jackpot/Fill transactions
- Assists the Cage Shift Supervisor/Manager/MOD when necessary
- Sets-up equipment prior to opening of cage window
- Has knowledge of federal cash reporting requirements and completes the necessary paperwork to comply with federal currency transaction reporting requirements of Title 31
- Exchanges currency, coin, and tokens, as requested
- Conducts jackpot and hopper fill transactions.
- Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the locked fill and credit slip-dispensing machine. (Whiz Box)
- Must have knowledge of Colorado Division of Gaming regulations, IRS regulations, as well as the casinos’ internal controls, policies and procedures.
- Should maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
- Should bring disputes and unusual guest activities to the attention of the shift manager.
- Promotes positive Guest Relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
