JOB GOAL:
The role of Community Education Assistant is to recognize that a process of involving citizens in identifying conditions and resources of the community is the central means of improving the well-being of those persons within the community.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must Possess High School Diploma or GED.
- Must possess and be able to articulate and share a compelling vision of what a successful Community Education programs should possess.
- Moderate to heavy lifting is required (up to 50 pounds)
- Good grammar, writing skills and verbal skills.
- Must possess strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Programs.
- Good organizational skills and scheduling abilities.
- Ability to relate well to staff, students, parents, etc.
- Such other preference to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shall assist in the development of brochures to adequately promote Community Education. .
- Shall assist in the interviewing process for the filling of Community Education positions and recommend persons for employment.
- Shall visit program locations to be informed and to inform others.
- Shall provide teaching clinics for all coaches.
- Shall provide administrative supervision for intramural programs.
- Shall be responsible for purchasing and maintaining all athletic equipment used in intramural programs.
- Shall work in conjunction with other community agencies so as not to overlap services.
- Shall coordinate facility use for Community Education programs and building rentals.
- Shall develop, supervise, implement, and evaluate the community enrichment programs.
- Shall assess the community formally and informally concerning Community Education needs inclusive of enrichment, recreational, academic, cultural, and social activities.
- Shall be part of the planning process for Community Education.
- Shall establish registration procedures, collect and deposit fees, and maintain accurate records of deposits.
- Shall maintain accurate records of participation, program needs, and evaluations.
- Shall operate all Community Education programs accordingly and see that their guidelines are altered as needed.

LOCATION:
This position will be based at the Administration Building, but will work in multiple District Locations.
SALARY: $18.65 per hour; 3rd Party Contract; average of 35+ hours per week
