PURPOSE:
Canopy Child Advocacy Center’s Problematic Sexual Behavior (PSB) Coordinator and Therapist works with a team to provide specialized services that address the children who are victims of sexual assault and who have Problematic Sexual Behaviors (PSB), in addition to other family members. The PSB Coordinator/Therapist oversees activities of the team to ensure effective service delivery and provides case management to address all needs of the child(ren) and family. The Coordinator/Therapist will provide a range of services including diagnostic assessments, psychotherapy, and acute trauma intervention services with individuals who are experiencing significant emotional and behavioral difficulties related to traumatic life events. Must be able to complete and maintain service documentation according to agency and regulatory standards. Work as collaborative member of multidisciplinary team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Work in collaboration with the Family Advocate to serve children who are victims of sexual assault and who have Problematic Sexual Behaviors (PSB); responsible for ensuring all roles are working in collaboration with the whole family to ensure needs are met.
2. Provide coordination and case management services to children and their families, which include:
a. Assess child and family’s physical and mental wellness, needs, strengths, abilities, and barriers – use assessment to develop tailored case plans.
b. Work with treatment team to put care plans in place.
c. Listen to concerns of child(ren) and family and provide appropriate interventions.
d. Document clients’ progress including charting referrals, home visits, and other notable interactions.2
e. Evaluate clients’ progress periodically and make adjustments as needed to improve outcomes.
3. Track services and data on all children and families served by the PSB team. Ensure data is input within 24 hours of service and work with Data Evaluator to ensure accurate and timely reports to leadership, funders, and partners.
4. Working as part of as multidisciplinary team, provides consultation and coordination surrounding client treatment progress and care through regularly scheduled PSB multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
5. Coordinate the work of all Canopy partner agencies.
6. Have a thorough understanding of the evidence-based practices used by therapist(s) serving children with PSB, including Problematic Sexual Behavior – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (PSB-CBT), Multi-systemic Therapy (MST) PSB, Trauma- Focused (TF) CBT-PSB, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
7. Uses Independent judgment to diagnose, treat clients and make decisions within the range of program services; especially those requiring behavioral health and trauma treatment.
8. Understanding developmentally appropriate child and adolescent sexual behavior.
9. Understanding research regarding interventions for child and adolescent sexual activity.
10. Comfortable discussing ways to teach and respond to sexual behavior and ensure appropriate boundaries are adhered to for education regarding sexuality.
11. Able to engage in professional supportive, collaborative healthy relationships.
12. Provides diagnostic tools and when warranted full diagnostic assessments to determine mental health needs; Provides psychotherapy as needed, makes appropriate recommendations to address ongoing mental health needs.
13. Conducts interventions based on client choice, client characteristics and needs, diagnoses and on familial, cultural, and environmental factors, considering resources and the safety of the person’s environment.
14. Ensure crisis resolution and follow-up by conducting ongoing needs assessments and coordinating services.
15. Ensures compliance with productivity standards and documentation/record keeping for agency and the project, funding, and accreditation requirements.

2. 4. Commit to working at least two evenings per week in both community-based, and office-based settings.
5. Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed and directed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master’s Degree with specialization in social, behavioral, or human services and three (3) years relevant
counseling work experience is required.
2. Must have strong intervention ability and be able to work independently.
3. Must have knowledge and experience working with individuals who are experiencing significant emotional and behavioral difficulties related to traumatic life events.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
LSW or LPC minimally required. CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
Ability and willingness to participate in recreational activities with children as needed.
WORKNG CONDITIONS
Work is typically performed in client’s homes in Cuyahoga County. Hours of work may exceed normal business hours; ability to work non-traditional work hours. Availability for on-call emergency service during nonscheduled hours. Smoke-free working environment

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
