Community Connections is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our Supported Living Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting program members with developing essential daily living skills, promoting independence, and fostering community integration. As an advocate for our program members, you will play a vital role in supporting them to live fulfilling lives.You will partner with Community Connections as an advocate for program members to live independently and integrate into community life. We are looking for a Direct Support Professional with a commitment to advocacy, promoting accessibility and serving the community.
What You'll Do as a Direct Support Professional:

Assist program members with personal hygiene and home maintenance tasks

Facilitate community engagement through various social activities

Ensure the safety and well-being of program members both at home and in the community

Support meal preparation, grocery shopping, and transportation needs
-
Provide life coaching, mentoring, and assistance with medical appointments

Respond promptly to emergencies and provide necessary assistance

Assist with packing, moving, and responsible pet care as needed

Participate in service development and specialized projects
What You'll Need to be a Direct Support Professional:

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in human services preferred

Six months of experience in human services preferred

Must be at least 18 years of age
-
Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, registered automobile, and current automobile insurance required

Certification in CPR and First Aid, completion of Human Rights and DPPC training

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong organization, judgment, and initiative

Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional on-call duties

Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations

Satisfactory criminal background check required
