About This Role
Dexter Southfield seeks a full-time Sports Information Coordinator to support its athletics marketing and communication for the School’s PreK-12 athletic and Advantage Training programs. The ideal candidate will successfully balance competing priorities, support two fast-paced offices, and have an aptitude for sports communications. This position will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications while working closely with the Director of Athletics and Director of Auxiliary Programs.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Manage the School’s athletic social media presence in coordination with the Marketing & Communications Office
- Oversee various team social media accounts coordinating with coaches and student leaders to manage appropriate content and brand guidelines
- Track data of social accounts and peer schools to develop social media strategy for growth and engagement
- Manage all livestreaming logistics, including vendor coordination, tech support with the IT Office, and output sites provide recommendations to expand school’s athletic livestreaming output to encompass all varsity sports programs
- Oversee photography for team photos, including taking senior night photos, creating content as usual, and coordinating with third-party photographers
- Coordinate with video for seasonal needs, in-house graphic designer, and yearbook staff
- Maintain the athletics section of the website including annual updates to team descriptions and photos, the alumni in College Sports, and daily game scores
- Develop and update head coaching bios and create team rosters with bios
- Create additional content with director of Athletics and Marketing & Communications
- Track engagement and disseminate media clips related to Dexter Southfield’s athletics/student-athletes and alumni athletes
- Coordinate data contacts to track student athletic participation by season in appropriate school databases
- Devise and implement external advertising strategies
- Staff athletic events and special events as needed, including Dexter Southfield Day, playoff games, and special tournament appearances
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in communications, arts, media, design, or a related field; advance degree desirable.
- At least two years of social media in a professional setting
- Proficiency using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
- Working knowledge of athletics and sports programs
- Photography and videography skills required
- Ability to build healthy working relationships and productively collaborate with key stakeholders including colleagues, coaches, and campus partners.
- Strong motivation and work ethic to succeed in a goal-oriented environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervisor independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to be flexible to travel and work evenings, weekends, and school vacations as needed
This is an on-campus position; however, flexible hours will be offered to accommodate for work needed during evenings, weekends, and school vacations.
