SUMMARY
Guides and helps other Operators. The lead ensures production filling equipment in a safe and efficient manner while also maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the equipment and surrounding work area.
This will be accomplished by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Receipt and verification of raw materials and production supplies, including correct count that are staged by warehouse operations personnel. Verification process includes auditing of supplied material against picking ticket for current production run.
- Receipt, verification, and connection to pumps, of correct resin and hardener component tanks and/or totes (including verification of correct lot numbers) as supplied by the batching department.
- Verification of proper set-up of filling equipment and ensure end-product meets the correct fill levels as defined in “weights and measures” sheet for the particular lot number.
- PS1 & PS2:
- Works with lab personnel to have “first-piece-check” performed for each production run. In the event of failure to pass the “first-piece-check” then modifies equipment as necessary to fix the problem and repeat this process until successful.
- Fills out and gets sign-off on “weights and measures” sheet by lead-person, supervisor or manager after successful completion of “first-piece-check” and prior to beginning the production run.
- TinMans, ScareCrow, Toto:
- Works with maintenance personnel to obtain correct fill levels as defined by the “weights and measures” sheet.
- Fills out and gets sign-off on “weights and measures” sheet by supervisor or manager at successful completion of correct fill levels and prior to beginning the production run.
- Bulk Stations:
- Modifies scale settings to obtain correct fill levels as defined by the “weights and measures” sheet. Revised: 06/2020
- Fills out and gets sign-off on “weights and measures” sheet by lead-person, supervisor or manager at successful completion of correct fill levels and prior to beginning the production run.
- Guides and directs other personnel working at same work-station to ensure correct packaging as defined in both the batch ticket and “weights and measures” sheet.
- Fills out “Transfer Log” upon completion of each finished goods pallet (or cases for nozzle and accessory kits) and provides to warehouse operations personnel so that the raw material components can be converted to finished goods.
- Use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to perform these tasks in a safe manner, including safety glasses and protective gloves.
- Use of pallet jack to move and stage material and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of work area.
- Performs “Line-Clearance” at end of production run to stage all raw-materials and packaging supplies that are no longer needed at work-station so that warehouse operations personnel can return to stock locations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have 2-3 years of lead, supervision , or experience leading a group of people.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Fluent in English.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

- Accomplishes daily production standards and communicates to manager or supervisor any short-falls in regard to daily production output goals.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluent in English.
- Able to lead and direct other personnel at work-station.
- Able to multi-task and perform several tasks at the same time and keep several pieces of equipment running at the same time.
