DIRECTOR GLOBAL MARKETING, DONIDALORSEN
SUMMARY:
The Donidalosen Global Marketing Director is responsible for development of Global Strategic Plan in conjunction with Otsuka, KOL Thought Leadership (Global and US), Speaker Bureau Creation & Management, commercial lead for the Pediatric Indication and support of Business Development activities related to global expansion of Donidalorsen .
The Global Marketing Director’s primary responsibility is to ensure we are driving the success of Donidalorsen globally through seamless cross-functional, cross-company leadership, coordination and execution that puts the patient and ultimately Donidalorsen first in the market. This will be achieved through excellent & meaningful external partnerships, developing a highly engaging omnichannel approach to Speaker Bureau programs, and ensuring we have an aligned impactful global strategy and effective alliance with Otsuka. This position reports to the VP Marketing. This is an opportunity to contribute to a high performing dedicated team and participate at the start of the build out of a commercial inline business that promises to have 5 launches in the next 5 years. Ionis is at the forefront of innovative science, defining and executing innovative and patient-centric solutions to deliver a transformational RNA Targeted Therapeutics to patients with serious and rare and fatal diseases.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Global Marketing
- Develops the global brand plan and gains endorsement from JSC in conjunction with Otsuka Pharmaceuticals
- Lead Joint Product Team Management (Europe & Future Markets/partnerships)Joint Steering Committee support that delivers smooth decision making
- Model and evolve the alliance principals that put the patient at the center and achieve alliance operational excellence
- Supports BD initiatives for global expansion
Thought Leader Liaison & Speaker Bureau Lead
- Develops and delivers highly effective KOL engagement plan and builds relationships in partnership with Medical Affairs & Clinical Development for US and Global
- Develops and manages a highly engaging omnichannel approach to speaker bureau that maximizes reach and impact of Donidalorsen with our audience
- Plan and execute KOL engagements and executive encounters at local, regional, and national conferences, in-field engagements, and other venues as directed in a compliant manner
- Act as a liaison between KOLs and home office cross-functional teams
- Lead on-label key thought leader development, including speakers, creation of approved decks and materials
- Facilitate speaker bureau management, including certain speaker logistical and scheduling activities and working cross-functionally to ensure timely communication
Life Cycle Management
- Leads the commercialization of the pediatric indication, supporting device development, clinical development, building commercial strategy and launch plan
Team
- Supports the VP in building, capabilities, culture and reputation of a highly effective marketing team through commercial excellence, collaboration, and positive open dialogue
- Supports in-line marketing team deliverables
REQUIREMENTS:
- 15+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12 years and a Master’s degree
- 7+ years of experience in pharma/biotech marketing with 4+ years of HCP-focused marketing preferred.
- A. or B.S. required; MBA preferred.
- Work experience in successfully building and executing speaker programs and KOL strategy and management; thought leader outreach experience
- Work experience in managing partner relationships, driving strategy and execution in a co-company promotional setting
- Work experience in a global role, demonstrating understanding of ex-US regulatory requirements and channel opportunities
- Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment – through consistent effort, determination, teamwork, and ability to influence colleagues.

- Demonstrated understanding of R&D process, and experience integrating commercial perspective and strategy into pipeline planning and clinical trial execution
- Strong analytical skills, demonstrated by the ability to identify and interpret complex issues and provide appropriate recommendations to senior management and across functional areas.
- Ability to travel (10-25%).

The pay scale for this position is $151,437 - $233,418.
