Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory in West Warwick & Warwick, RI is hiring a RI Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer to join our professional and dedicated team.
Our Family-Owned funeral home is growing, and we’re looking for an energetic, positive, and compassionate Funeral Director to join our innovative firm.

Qualifications:
- Graduated from an accredited mortuary school or college of mortuary science
- Have a Rhode Island Funeral Director/Embalmer License or reciprocal ability.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required to operate company vehicles.
- Great communication etiquette and interpersonal skills – ability to work in a team.
- Proficient with technology
- Have impeccable attention to detail and a high sense of urgency in task fulfilment.
- Able to work under pressure, pivot and recover quickly from setbacks and conflict.
- Maintain self-control in the face of hostility or provocation.
- Able to manage multiple responsibilities, being organized and on-top of importamt time-sensitive tasks.
Funeral Director Responsibilities:
- Family Arrangements: Meet with grieving families to discuss funeral arrangements, understand their preferences, and provide guidance on available services and pricing.
- Coordination of Services: Arrange and coordinate funeral services, viewings, cremations, life celebrations and burials.
- Excellence in embalming and body preparation.
- Transportation Arrangements: Coordinate the transportation of the deceased from the place of death to the funeral home (No night transfers)
- Support & Follow Up Services: Offer emotional support and guidance to grieving families, providing resources for grief counseling and other support services. (Full Circle Aftercare)
- Documentation and Compliance: Prepare and file all necessary legal documents, including death certificates and permits, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Attendance at daily morning staff meetings - & monthly full staff meetings
