Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and responsible individual to join our team as a Summer Camp Teacher/ Bus Driver. As a Bus Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, ensuring their well-being and maintaining a positive and supportive environment during the commute.
Duties:
- Safely operate a school bus and transport students to and from designated locations
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
- Maintain a clean and organized bus interior
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus
- Ensure the safety of all passengers on board
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Follow established routes and schedules
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus as needed
- Enforce rules and regulations for student behavior on the bus
- Report any incidents or concerns to appropriate personnel
- Communicates appropriately with parents and children.
- Establishes and maintains primary caregiver groups (ratios).
- Observes, records, and reports to the Director any significant behavior of children or staff that could adversely affect the quality of care provided.
- Actively participates in center events, staff training sessions, meetings, and programs.
-Immediately notifies the Director of needed repairs to the building, play area, equipment, or toys throughout the facility. Ensures that children are not exposed to equipment or situations that could affect their health or safety.
-Accepts temporary work assignments in the event regularly scheduled staff is not available, such as answering the phones, cooking, assisting in the classrooms, etc.
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
- Experience working with children or students in a childcare, childhood development, special education, or similar setting
- First aid certification is preferred but not required
- Sports coaching or theater experience is a plus
- Familiarity with early childhood education principles is beneficial
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and patient in stressful situations
- Strong organizational skills
