We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager with over 7 years of experience in the skilled nursing facility (SNF) sector. The ideal Accounts Receivable Manager will oversee the accounts receivable operations for 10+ facilities, ensuring timely and accurate billing, collections, and reconciliation. Accounts Receivable Manager role requires in-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing specific to SNFs, as well as exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
Job Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounts receivable management within skilled nursing facilities.
- Proven track record of managing accounts receivable for multiple facilities simultaneously.
- Extensive experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing specific to skilled nursing facilities.
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA or similar certification is a plus.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of billing and collection processes, regulations, and best practices in the skilled nursing facility sector.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:
- Office-based with occasional travel to skilled nursing facilities as required.
- Fast-paced environment requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervision and Management:
- Oversee and manage the accounts receivable teams across 10+ skilled nursing facilities.
- Provide leadership, training, and support to accounts receivable staff to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the AR process and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Billing and Collections:
- Ensure timely and accurate billing to Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and residents.
- Monitor and manage the AR aging report to minimize outstanding receivables and reduce days sales outstanding (DSO).
- Implement and oversee collection strategies to ensure timely payments and reduce bad debt.
- Reconciliation and Reporting:
- Perform regular reconciliation of accounts receivable ledgers to ensure accurate accounting records.
- Prepare and present monthly AR reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with the finance team to support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Compliance and Audits:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to billing and collections in skilled nursing facilities.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits related to accounts receivable.
- Customer Service:
- Address and resolve any billing and payment issues with residents, families, and insurance providers in a timely and professional manner.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure high levels of satisfaction and trust.
