Jered, a division of PAR Systems, seeks a Business Development Manager who will be responsible for supporting our global organization. This key role aims to elevate our business development capabilities by driving the strategic direction of all business development, capture, and proposal activities within the Jered business. This role can support remote or onsite work, based on the candidate's preference. Position may be located in Brunswick, Georgia or Remote.
With over 60 years of experience in designing, building, and supporting products for every combatant ship in the US Navy, Jered is a renowned defense contractor specializing in a wide range of critical equipment, including anchor windlasses, capstans, mooring and towing winches, steering gear systems, cargo handling systems, pontoon roadways and bridging, and aircraft, cargo, and weapons elevators.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop long-term business development and capture strategies, covering both domestic and international opportunities.
- Participate in customer visits, trade shows, and conferences as required.
- Gather, assess, and validate customer needs, priorities, and risks.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with key government and industry partners.
- Identify and target specific areas for new growth opportunities.
- Initiate strategic teaming agreements within the shipbuilding industry, aligned with long-term growth strategies.
- Partner with the engineering organization to ensure the voice of the customer is captured in our design and capture efforts.
- Conduct and coordinate activities across the full business development and capture lifecycle, including opportunity identification, qualification, capture, and proposal development.
- Translate requirements into robust win strategies through concept design, competitive analysis, teaming, solution reviews, and customer engagement.
- Plan and participate in opportunity activities, including white papers, RFIs, sources sought, collaboration sessions, pricing analysis, and proposal reviews.
- Brief all business development activities to company leadership as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a Technical Field.
- 10 years of related experience in shipbuilding or Navy programs.
- Strong understanding of international Navy programs, initiatives, and trends related to shipbuilding.
- Knowledge of all phases of the acquisition and business development lifecycles.
- In-depth knowledge, experience, and success in capture for all contract types.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and business acumen.
- Confidence in dealing with government and industry personnel.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel regularly to company and customer locations.
