Job Position: Print Lead
Job Location: Stone Mountain, GA
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Lead Print Operator is responsible for leading a team of print equipment operators. Print Lead conducts training of print operators, basic operator maintenance repair of printers, troubleshoot and resolves print equipment downtime. Maintains operations of print equipment machines that produces printed disposable foam cups, bowls or containers. Ensures basic mechanical diagnoses and follows safety and GMP processes. Adheres to daily operational targets and customer demands.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Leads print equipment operators to ensure overall maximum output efficiencies.
- Runs multiple print equipment lines (machines) to produce foam cups and/or other foam customer products.
- Meets and communicates with either on coming or off going Print Lead to review current issues such as quality, GMP, housekeeping, or any changes needed.
- Reviews daily operations plan with the Production Supervisor to ensure that all required changes to schedule are implemented ensuring production target levels are sustained.
- Keeps Shift Supervisor informed to overall status of assigned area during shift.
- Immediately stops production in the event inferior product is being produced.
- Diagnose and determine cause for machine problems. Repairs and maintains print machines.
- Perform equipment change-over while ensuring that the proper change-over parts are installed and adjustments are made to specifications.
- Clean change-over parts removed during a print change and return them to the print storage area along with tagging any defective parts.
- Provide the Production Shift Supervisor with samples of new items and obtain approval prior to beginning production.
- Maintain an adequate supply of inks, labels and bulk products by the print machines to facilitate production.
- Comply with all safety rules, polices, procedures and practices to include performing lock-out/tag-out of print equipment when required.
- Verifies compliance of print checks by Print Equipment Operators.
- Diagnose and follows up on repairs to ensure machine maintenance is completed and on schedule.
- Enforces all work rules, area, and safety regulations are followed, along with safety and housekeeping standards.
- Follows all GMP and sanitation guidelines along with maintaining a high level of personal hygiene.
- Responsible for communicating to the Production Shift Supervisor immediately of any failure to meet established quality standards.
- Perform all work in a safe manner to include performing lock-out/tag-out of equipment before making any repairs.
- Maintains housekeeping standards by keeping a clean and safe work area at all times.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
- Participates in the training of existing and new team members.
- Performs additional assignments and/or special projects that may require additional customer demands.

- Adheres to all good manufacturing practices (GMP), safety, and HACCP and SQF requirements; rectify and/or report any and all non-compliance to the supervisor or the SQF practitioner immediately.
- Follows WinCup OPERA Values, safety initiatives, and other related plant standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
- Ability to follow directives with STM leadership, managers, supervisors, in ensuring productivity and target levels are sustained.
- Ensures all company policies and procedures including manufacturing and safety policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Collaboration with plant, safety, and leadership.
- Ability to complete mandated new manufacturing training on equipment to maximize output efficiencies.
- Supports all current and new product modifications and introductions.
Education and Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- At least two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with team leader experience.
- Previous print equipment experience.
- Mechanical aptitude of sound judgement.
- Mathematical knowledge.
- Basic PC skills including Excel and use of web based applications to use FedEx, UPS and print labels.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
- Must be able to speak, read and write English in order to complete job specific paperwork.
- Ability to work independently and function as a team member.
- Good planning and organizing skills.
- Work mandatory overtime, early morning, late evenings and weekends when required during busy season, inventory, and for vacation coverage.
Working Conditions:
- In-doors in a manufacturing and/or environment that is not air-conditioned.
- Exposure to extreme heat.
- Wear PPE while working which includes hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards.
- May work 8 hour shift or 12 hour shift that begins at 6:50 a.m. for dayshift or a nightshift that begins 6:50 p.m.
- Required to work weekdays, weekends and overtime as needed.
- Subject to on-call activity to ensure equipment is functional.
Physical Demands:
- Work 8 or 12-hour shift while standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping and lifting throughout the entire shift.
- Requires the manual movement of cases of finished goods and other objects such as bagger film that weight up to 40 pounds.
- 100% tobacco free workplace on all Company premises. Designated outside smoking area provided and must be followed.
