Senior Medical Biller:

Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records and documentation to ensure accurate coding and billing
- Assign appropriate codes using ICD-10
- Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and eligibility for reimbursement
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for payment, charge entry, posting, patient statements, collections, answering phones and special projects assigned.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies.(A/R follow-up)
- Communicate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries or Appeals
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Requirements:
- Proficient in medical coding using ICD-10
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies.
- A minimum of three years of medical Billing (for a practice).
- Understanding of HIPAA laws and regulations.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
- Thorough knowledge of how to handle the process of billing an insurance claim from start to finish (including everything in between).
- Ability to communicate with Surgeons and staff and patients.
- Knowledge of local payers and use of their portals to obtain payment, claim status, and eligibility
-Experience in DSN helpful
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software
- Preferred Candidates will also have some of the following experience:
- Surgical billing and A/R follow-up
- Dental billing and coding
- Experience in billing NY State Medicaid and Managed Medicaid products.
- Coding certification is a plus and will be compensated in pay rate.
Note: Certification in medical coding (such as CPC or CCS or CMC) is preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
