Position: Barber Instructor (Evening Shift)
Location: Hinton Barber and Beauty College, 1035 Tennessee St., Vallejo, CA
Shift Hours: 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM

- Licensed Barber: You’ve got your Barber License and at least 3 years of hands-on experience (this is a must).
- Teaching Pro: You’ve taught students of all levels and know how to make learning fun.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Look the Part: Always look professional. Your appearance represents Hinton Barber College.
- Advise and Inspire: Help students with their educational concerns and teach them the ropes of barbering.
- Hands-On Teaching: Guide students in the salon area, making sure they follow State Board rules.
- Keep it Fun: Create an energetic and enjoyable learning environment.
- Know Your Stuff: Be well-versed in all the materials and workbooks we use.
- Show Up Ready: Be fully prepared for each class with organized materials and a positive attitude.
- Adapt as Needed: Adjust your teaching style to match the group’s learning level and style.
- Track Progress: Monitor and help students meet their goals in class and in the salon.
- Timely Grading: Grade assignments and tests promptly and keep records up to date.
- Positive Communication: Always communicate with students in a constructive and encouraging way.
- Develop Professionals: Help students build work behaviors that will make them successful in the barbering industry.
- Manage Supplies: Keep track of classroom inventory and conduct quarterly counts.
- Special Projects: Take on and coordinate special projects as needed.

Physical Stuff:
- Standing and Walking: You’ll be on your feet a lot.
- Other Physical Tasks: Occasionally sitting, bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and lifting (up to 25 pounds).
Work Environment:
- Mostly Indoors: You’ll be working in a general indoor environment.
- Travel: Occasionally travel to conferences, shows, and other schools.
Safety Note:
- Minimal Hazards: Just be cautious with hair processing chemicals and sharp objects.
