S.P. Morell is a manufacturer's representative and a distributor of specialty chemicals used in production of paint, inks, coatings, adhesives and sealants in the Northeastern United States.
The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a background in chemistry (a B.S. in chemistry or chemical engineering preferred). In order to continue to generate revenue, this candidate should be able to uncover new client needs and find a way to add value to their business.
Responsibilities:
- Continuously add and refine target opportunities. This will ensure the development and communication of potential new business.
- Continuously add and refine market intelligence by gathering competitive information as well as account purchases that are not competitive.
- Writing detailed contact reports.
- Monthly sales analysis to ascertain any potential issues (via major transactions, unfavorable variances, lost business, etc.) or opportunities (via major transactions, favorable variances, new business, etc.) so that we can act on them in a timely fashion.
- Grow existing accounts by maintaining relationships with clients.
- Generate new leads and tackle existing leads to contribute to business growth.
- Attend trade shows and relevant conferences.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (chemistry or chemical engineering) and 2+ years in related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational, communication and analytical skills. Strong understanding of full sales process.
- Experience utilizing customer relationship management software.
