Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Receptionist. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facility. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays
- Maintain patient records and update information as needed
- Answer phone calls and address patient inquiries or direct them to the appropriate department
- Assist with coding and billing processes
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a medical receptionist or similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with coding and billing processes
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is a plus
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in using computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
