HR Associate Position Decription
Position Purpose:
Manages Talent Acquisition activities to meet property’s staffing guidelines in compliance with Hilton recruiting standards, immigration, ADA, and EEOC guidelines. Manages hotel’s Affirmative Action Plan goals. Assists in the interviewing and staffing procedures training.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Recruits for all open positions.
- Develops and maintains recruiting sources by using internet resources, attending job fairs
- Monitors job posting and job hotline systems to ensure they are administered in a timely and efficient manner.
- Performs initial screening interview with qualified candidates to assess individual’s
experience, ability and interest in an available position.
- Refers qualified candidates for further interview and consults with department managers as to status of interviewed candidates. Ensures that all paperwork such as applicant disposition is completed properly.
- Ensures EEOC and AAP guidelines are met..
- Maintains current staffing guidelines
- Maintains current job descriptions and ensures compliance with ADA.
- Ensures managers with interviewing responsibility are trained in interviewing techniques in accordance with the law. Directs managers in interviewing techniques using methods such as verbal presentations and written directions to ensure the hiring and retention of qualified employees.
- Maintain and update employee records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with Hilton policies and legal requirements
- Help employees with understanding their benefits and facilitate communication between employees and benefits providers
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives as assigned
Management
- Oversees the process of paperwork for all new hires and personnel changes.
- Provides professional support and advice on recruitment to managers and advises managers on best practice recruitment and selection.
- Oversees new team members on the completion of necessary paperwork, pre- employment processes such as drug testing, background checks, employment verification process, and WOTC.
- Manages budget of recruiting materials for job fairs, online postings, and drug tests.
- Assists in or prepares periodic reports related to the Human Resources function such as labor turnover, EEO, through the use of moderately complex computer system and written reports.
- Maintains Affirmative Action documentation such as applicant flow, requisitions, employment applications, dispositions and job postings.
- Maintains all PTO and vacation tracking data for all employees
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Hilton from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
Orientation Program Development:
- Collaborate with Executive Team to design an engaging and informative orientation program for new team members.
- Ensure the program covers essential information such as hotel policies, procedures, employee benefits, and career development opportunities.
- Coordinate and schedule orientation sessions for new hires, ensuring all logistics are well-managed.
Promotion of Positive Work Culture & Boosting Team Morale:
- Promote a positive work culture through initiatives that celebrate achievements, recognize contributions, and encourage camaraderie among team members.
- Collaborate with the Executive Team to integrate morale-boosting activities and events for hotel team members
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager/AGM
- Conducts non-exempt salary surveys.
- Attends management meetings and training programs as required.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Knowledge of EEOC, ADA and employment laws.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
- Ability to effectively deal with team members and applicants, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines
QUALIFICATION TANDARDS:
EDUCATION
High School graduate or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
One year hotel experience or previous recruiting experience.

GROOMING/UNIFORMS
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.

Additional language ability preferred. Spanish
NOTICE:
The hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
