Job Summary/Objective:
Provides clinical phone support to the physician(s) to achieve patient care goals and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls related to prescription refill requests, lab/diagnostic imaging results, and clinical questions.
- Respond to telephone encounters created by the physicians and/or office team members by calling patients with the given clinical instructions.
- Notify patients of negative or unremarkable lab results via telephone as directed by the clinician.
- Refill and/or resubmit prescriptions by e-scribes according to protocol.
- Schedule Patient appointments when appropriate.
- Respond to incoming patient portal messages in the EMR.
- Upholds the code of conduct, compliance, and all company policies.
- Other duties may be assigned.

- Education/Certification/License – Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, RMA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
- Experience - At least 2 years of healthcare related experience
- Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence.
- Decisiveness. attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously.
- Polite, positive, and professional phone and in-person presence.
- Computer Skills - Experience with medical software or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Previous healthcare phone experience.
- Experience using E-Clinical Works (eCW).
Work Environment and Physical Demand
This job operates in a professional office setting or remote from their home office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear, as well as sit in front of a phone/computer for extended periods of time during the workday.
