Hornig Companies seeks a full-time Skilled Roving Boiler Specialist to repair and trouble shoot hot water and steam boilers maintenance concerns as well as participate in the regular maintenance of multi-unit residential buildings throughout Hornig Companies' Minneapolis/ St. Paul locations. A Special Boiler's license and previous work experience in boiler repair are required for this position.
What are some of the things I would do?
- Diagnose and repair hot water and steam boilers in a multi-unit setting
- Provide expertise on boiler repair, concentrating on preventing future maintenance concerns in historical and aging buildings
- Diagnose and repair plumbing issues such as leaking faucets, toilets, and other fixtures
- Low-risk electrical repair or replacement of lighting, ceiling fans, and smoke detectors
- Work orders during down-time may include appliance repair, minor sheetrock and caulking repair as well as repair of building construction such as broken windows, locks, blinds and closet doors
- Communicate with residents regarding repairs in a caring, compassionate manner that upholds Hornig Companies' customer service reputation as well as Fair Housing guidelines

What should I bring to the team?
- Specials Boiler’s License
- 2+ years of experience in boiler diagnostics and repair
- Mechanical, plumbing and light electrical aptitude
- Ability and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid Driver’s License and meet car insurance requirements
- Ability to work rotating on-call schedule
- Ability to operate applicable phone applications for work orders, time allocation, and information look-up
- Ability to stand, lift and bend for up to 8 hours (with breaks) in hot/cold and wet environments
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Prior Multi-housing experience preferred
